- Method
Method
- Peel the turmeric and grate it finely.
- Squeeze the juice from the lemon and add it to the grated turmeric.
- Strain the liquid to remove any pieces of turmeric.
- Pour it into a bottle and keep it in the fridge.
- Shake the bottle well before use; you can drink the turmeric shot straight after making it.
If you find the flavour too strong, you can dilute it with a little water or fruit juice. Of course, you want to keep your turmeric shot as pure as possible and limit your sugar intake. That’s why we recommend using our concentrated turmeric juice. It consists of pure turmeric juice with a little lemon juice, without any added sugar or water, for example. Unlike other turmeric drinks, which often add sugar or contain just a little turmeric with lots of apple juice.
Tip: Add a pinch of black pepper to your fresh turmeric shot to increase the absorption of curcumin!

How often should you take a turmeric shot?
How many turmeric shots you take depends on your personal needs. In general, it is recommended to take one turmeric shot of about 30-40 millilitres a day; at this amount you can already experience the health benefits. Above all, it’s important to listen to your body. So start with 1 shot a day, and if you feel good on that, you can always take more shots.
How do you store a turmeric shot?
Turmeric shots should be kept in the fridge to preserve their freshness and flavour. Once opened, our juices keep for about 3 weeks and should be stored in the fridge. Unopened, the juices keep for at least a year. If you want to keep your turmeric shot for longer, you can pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze it. When you want to take a shot, just thaw an ice cube and drink it.
Where can you buy turmeric shots?
You can buy turmeric shots in the supermarket or at a specialist shop, or make them yourself. However, many supermarket turmeric shots contain only a small amount of turmeric and often have sugars and other additives mixed in. All our juices are free from added sugars and water. That way you can always count on a pure turmeric or a mandarin turmeric shot.
