A popular way to enjoy the benefits of turmeric is to use it to make tea or to take it as a turmeric shot. Turmeric tea is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. That is why it is often used as a natural remedy for various minor ailments. Not only its health benefits but also its zingy flavour are making turmeric rapidly more popular in the Netherlands.

What is turmeric tea?

Turmeric tea is a drink made from turmeric powder, which comes from the root of the turmeric plant. The root is dried and ground into a powder, which can then be used to make tea. Turmeric tea has a unique flavour and a bright yellow colour and is known for its many health benefits. Just as many people drink a warming cup of ginger tea every day, turmeric tea can also be enjoyed as part of a healthy lifestyle. You can adjust your turmeric tea to taste with additions such as lemon and honey.

Quick and easy turmeric tea

Making turmeric tea with turmeric powder is easy. It is important, though, to know whether your turmeric powder is pure. Because not all turmeric powder is produced purely.

That makes turmeric tea made with pure, organic turmeric juice a good alternative. This pure, concentrated juice contains no additives such as sugars or other (unnatural) ingredients. It is pure turmeric with just a little lemon juice. Read more about organic versus conventional farming here. Just like turmeric powder, this pure juice is easy to use. Simply add a splash of juice to hot water and you have a powerful turmeric tea. Because it is so concentrated, you only need a drop of pure juice. What's more, you decide for yourself how strong you make your drink.
